Pumpkin pie cake

Bit of a strange day today. Just me and little bee as big bee went with daddy to work to spend the day with nanny and grandad on the farm. She was really excited to go and had her Barbies packed up ready to go with her. I waved her off this morning feeling really sad. 

Anyway me and little bee had a lovely day. We both enjoyed cup of tea together this morning (de-caff!) and we dunked our biccies in. Was so sweet watching him copy me. :-)

I've felt rather rough today, but ploughed through anyway. After the tesco shop arrived we went out and picked a pumpkin.

I loosened up the insides and little bee scooped it out, he loved it!

And finally on the hob. Sounds ridiculous but was knackered after cutting that lot! Hard work! Lol!

Ready to freeze in 2 cup portions

Straight on to creating a 'pumpkin spice mix' for the many pumpkin recipes we have planned. We mixed it all together and I gave it a little sniff, yum! Said to little bee, 'smell this'.. Ooops, little bee sniffed in reverse!! A cloud of cinnamon/nutmeg etc poofed all over us! Lol!

We then started making our pumpkin cake, he looked most proud adding ingredients and mixing..

After making the cake, he played on an app big bee used to love. Learning about shapes. He seemed to really enjoy. :-)

Finally the time came and my biggest bee came through the door. Full of cuddles for me and bringing with her a gluten and dairy free apple crumble she'd made! :-) she told me all about how they'd gone and collected the apples and how they'd made it. She was so pleased to tell me it was gluten free bless her! We now had 2 desserts for tea! Spoiled for choice! 

Both were delicious anyway. :-)

After tea, we had a lovely visit from nanny and grandad from next door! They'd just got back from holiday. They've been away 10 days. Has seemed ages! We've really missed them. They came back with pressies for the bees. The bees were so pleased to see them and loved there pressies. I don't think big bee will ever want to wear anything else!! Lol!
