Plum crumble and body parts

Big bee spent quite a bit of time playing with her tinkerbell set this morning. It has little stories, figures which you dress, and a 'tea room' where they play.
Here they are all holding hands :-)
My tesco shop came this morning. Little bee helped me putting things away while big bee was off with the fairies still ;-)
This magazine was in the bottom of the bags and little bee carted it off. Eventually big bee picked it up and started asking questions about mushrooms!
We talked about this page and mushrooms for ages. She's always been fascinated by funghi/toadstools etc..
Then we talked about steak, and where it comes from. We even discussed how some cows are eaten and some for milk..
About tea and where it comes from and how it ends up in tea bags
This page obviously caught her attention! Chocolate! We talked about how cocoa beans grow and are then made into chocolate. She said she'd like to make some chocolate. *Next project!*
And finally about sea salt. We even tried a little bit :-)
We had lots of ipad play today inbetween other things, there is some great educational 'games' on there that both bees love to play. It amazes me how much they both learn from it.

After lunch we drawed around big bee and set about labelling the body parts. (Hands, arms, legs, eyes, nose, mouth etc). Big bee drew on a few finer details, Rapunzel hair, eyes nose mouth, socks and then a belly button! Very important that we labeled that one apparently.
We then played a few games of removing the body part labels and guessing where they go back on the body. A bit of word recognition really as they both know where legs/arms etc are anyway.
All labels back on. :-)
Little bee then went and curled up on the sofa for a nap and big bee said she wanted to do some cooking. I had some excess plums that really wanted using so in a sudden wave of inspiration we decided a plum crumble was the way to go!
Getting the stones out. Messy business when your 4!
Making the crumble
Sprinkling it on..
The finished plum crumble! It was very very very very yum! Best crumble I've had in ages!
Tonight the bees helped daddy bee with the fire. Its the first time they've really properly seen it in action as our wood yard bit isn't somewhere they really go. They loved it! They both helped throw wood on and were so excited seeing it getting going. I think they're going to want to help out every night now!
