Well today was the day of our home ed boat trip! We've been looking forward to it for ages. When we booked it September seemed like a lifetime away and also a bit of a scary time. It doesn't feel scary anymore, actually quite the opposite. it feels wonderful and I'm feeling much more relaxed than I ever thought I would. Things have just been happening so naturally and learning is happening just as all the home ed books suggest -- Everywhere! :-)
This is us in front of our big posh boat :-) big bee was pulling a funny face!
Being waved off like royals! My mum and gran came to see us off! :-)
Hmmmm, sky turning a bit grey..
Yep, it rained! Lol! Not to bad though, we stayed outside so wasn't that heavy.
And the sunshine was back! :-) absolutely gorgeous when the sun shone, beautiful scenery. The children lapping it all up, constantly peering over the edge looking at the water rippling by.
There was a commentary on board telling us all about the broads and the different things we saw. We saw several different types of bird. All really interesting. We waved at all the little holiday boats that went by!
Little bee pointing at some ducks and swans.
Eating our picnic
When we were nearly back the rain came down again and we headed in for the first time. There was a lovely bar/cafe on the bottom deck. We'd been on the open top deck the whole time. Little bee doing a bit of pole dancing!!! Lol!
Heading out to the front of the bottom deck, big bee and her friend F were playing about, both giggling!
Back on dry land! Fantastic trip out, was amazing to be with everyone. Got to speak to several different other home ed mums on board. There was I believe 60 children and about 40 adults. All those children and not an ounce of trouble. Heard lots of giggles from the younger ones and older ones alike. lovely to see the teens all so polite and considerate towards everyone. No grumpy troublesome teenagers on this boat! All together and all learning in the most natural way possible. Happy :-)
The children all had a bit of a play once docked.
After everyone started to leave we made a last minute decision to head to the park for a bit. We went to one close to where the boat was. We'd never been there before. Was a really nice park!
