Started off the day with lots of reading in bed. All snuggled up away from the cold! After that Big bee started playing with some snap cards, making up her own games..
I taped a long piece of brown packing paper to the table and put out paint/brushes/stamps/ink and left the bees to it. Little bee gave up pretty quick but big bee was at it for ages.
I started chopping some more pears for the dehydrator and big bee came through after finishing her piccy. Little bee had fallen asleep in the middle of the lounge floor, bless him. I covered him up and we carried on together. She loved cutting out the middles (and eating lots of slices!)
We then started on our planned cake. Nanny and grandad Y are coming over tomorrow night for a late birthday celebration/takeaway tea as was nannys birthday yesterday. As soon as big bee found that out she wanted to make a birthday cake! I'd been given a recipe for a courgette cake from gran recently so we thought we'd give it a go. Here is big bee tackling the peeling..
We put it through the grater attachment, (wonderful device!)
Cracking the eggs..
Measuring out the courgette. It said add 500ml which I thought seemed a funny way of measuring courgette but it was a lovely way for big bee to practise with numbers etc as it was so simple.
Cake all mixed up and ready for oven.
Making some experimental icing from coconut milk!
All baked (and sampled!) yum! Not the usual cake but really tasty.. Hope our guests think so :-)
Later a bit of scissor practise and lots of drawing and colouring. I got given a lovely picture that said mammy on it. Pretty close to mummy and considering she just done it without asking I was pretty impressed.
Back to the painting station and we experimented with using white crayon (invisible writing on white paper) and then painting over to reveal the words. I did a treasure map and it took us to the kitchen where we enjoyed a fruit lolly as 'treasure'
Tickles and giggles before bed tonight. Little bee spoke one of his first clear words tonight, egged on by his cheeky sister.. The word??? Poo!!!! Little monkeys! Lol! Gotta love em..
Righteo, off to bed.. Night night mum! (I know she's waiting for tonight's blog update!) lol! Love you lots xxxxx
