Poly tunnel soup and pumpkin cake

We planned a day at home today, sorting out the poly tunnel. We all got ready to go outside, a cheeky little lady put my boots on! Lol!
We all got stuck in. The bees were actually (mostly) a really great help. Here is big bee collecting up the onions
We had to pick the remaining million or so tiny tomatoes! Both bees helped. They loved sliding the toms off the vines.
Little bee with a HUGE white carrot (from our rainbow carrots)
Part of our harvest. We also bought in a few more pumpkins, some onions and a courgette. We decided with all the veg we had picked we'd make some soup for tea. 'Poly tunnel soup'
Big bee was so keen to help, she wanted to peel the courgette..
She managed to peel some then daddy bee helped her with the rest.
This was little bee 'helping' lol!
All the veggies in the pot along with some pork bone broth.
And finally in our bowls ready to eat. This was such a delicious soup, 4 clear bowls at the end was a sure sign it was yummy! Just what the doctor ordered. All fresh homegrown veggies. Mmm! Feel rather proud :-)
This was some of the pumpkin ready for our next planned project, 'pumpkin cake'
This was the leftover mixture which I baked in the oven, the rest went in the slow cooker.
Two pumpkin cakes, one with sugar and one without and replaced with maple instead. Daddy bee was keen to have a sugar cake but upon trying them both we both actually preferred the maple one. both such moist cakes!
And finally just before bed a shot of my little bee, 'the princess!' Lol! Bless him.
