Oaty cookies and salt dough decorating.

This morning after breakfast big bee did some colouring, then we all read some books together. Reading seems a favourite activity at the moment. :-)
We decided to make some peanut butter oaty cookies like we had at yesterday's party. I checked we had all the ingredients. We didnt have oat flour or quite enough ground almonds so I whizzed up some oats making fabulous flour and managed to scrape by with enough ground almonds plus i wizzed up some flaked ones we had in the cupboard.
Am loving simple 'cup' recipes at the moment as the bees can get really hands on and measure themselves.
Our oat flour
Rolling, and cutting the dough..
All ready to go in the oven. The original recipe was a dehydrator recipe but with an option of 12 hours plus in dehydrator or 10-15 minutes in the oven we went with the latter! I don't think the bees would have been happy with a long wait. 15 mins was long enough for them!
Here they are done, a tad overdone actually but very nice with the extra crispness!
After sampling our biccies (several times) we started painting our salt dough ornaments.
Little bee was really engrossed!
Our finished ornaments, :-) well some of them anyway. Have a few more to paint yet. The ones at the top are little bees and the ones at the bottom are big bees. The snowflakes are mine :-)
