Beads, buttons and 'bone soup'

We managed to fit in lots of little activities today..
Foam picture making firstly..
Painting an animal picture next..
Was really impressed with this. Big bee stayed focused for so long and the end result I think Is really good. :-)
Little bee done some button threading/playing
While big bee threaded some smaller beads
She made this massively long 'necklace' for daddy!
Next I had an idea to put on our new hungry caterpillar DVD and give the bees the book to follow. Big bee was turning the pages.
They loved it! Kept wanting to watch again..
Little bee then found this alphablocks folder and started sorting the letters out while I got on with a bit of tidying.
Big bee done some more threading!
I finally finished our 'bone soup' as big bee calls it. I boil the bones up first time for the broth and freeze, then boil a second time for a soup for our tea. Is absolutly delicious, best soup ever! So glad I realised they could be boiled twice else we'd be missing out on some seriously yummy soup. We added some of our home grown veg too. Mmmm...
Big bee wolfed hers down in no time, but little bee needed some encouragement to actually try it. Once dinosaur had a little bowl and tried his he got going!
Finally some giggly cuddles before getting ready for bed
And lots of kisses! Feel like the luckiest mummy ever, love my little bees so much. <3 :-)

Craft day with friends, and a new fluffy friend.

We had our friends round today for a craft session. I lined the table with paper for our planned big tree picture and big bee wanted to set out paintbrushes and pots etc. she was so excited!
Out first friend arrived! A little bundle of fluff called Sirius! This is T and O's little pup, absolutely gorgeous, so good too. The little chap is actually blind which is partly why he came today, rather than being left at home on his own. A great learning experience for the children learning about disabilities and caring for animals etc.
The rest of our friends arrived, 12 children 2 babies and one pup totally! Lol! After a good ole play and run round, and a spot of lunch the children started on the craft activity. I think they pretty much all got involved, they were having great fun and mostly covered in paint! Little bee was on the yellow paint for the star and the rest were mixing colours to make green and painting the tree.
The little Bubba's didn't do a lot of painting, ;-) just looked all cute and tiny instead!
Big bee getting stuck in..
Two of our friends went home around this time leaving the rest of us to finish up. After the tree was painted they made some baubles for it.
After the baubles were stuck on I had a lovely cuddle with little Sirius. :-) the children all loved him and were so gentle and caring.
A little later we headed outside for a play.. We had a tomato picking session and lots of games of tag, hide and seek and just lots of giggles!
And finally nearly dry now, the finished tree! A great team effort for the children. Fab day :-)

Fun with both nannies!

This morning big bee was keen to get painting her horse..
After a bit the workmen started on our kitchen so the bees went to play in nannies house for a bit, having fun as usual. :-)
Nanny had got a new doll with dresses with big bee was thrilled to play with. Little bee enjoyed playing with the cars on the road mat. They were also invited to have lunch with nanny which of course they loved! I went back and fed the workers! Lol!
I then meanwhile got on with our tea and dessert as we had hubby's mum and dad and grandad over for tea. When they arrived me and nanny S took big bee horse riding while little bee stayed at home with the men. Big bee had a wonderful lesson, she loves it so much. The riding instructor made me smile, she said 'have we got chatty S____ today?' Apparently just recently she's gained a lot of confidence and been chatting away! Bless!
We came back after and enjoyed a tea all together, spag Bol with spagetti squash and pumpkin cake for afters. Yum!

Paper mâché horse

Today big bee wanted to make a horse.. Hmm, wasn't quite sure where to start so we started cutting up an egg box. Eventually it resembled something remotely horse like!
We then mixed up some paper mâché glue (flour and water) and snipped up some newspaper
Little bee wanted to help..
He put some more layers of paper mâché on our piñata
While big bee paper mached her horse.
All done and rather wet! We also cut out a 'saddle' by request of big bee. She picked the fabric from my stash. Apparently we need to add stirrups tomorrow when its dry! :-)
A bit off topic but this wonderful box of fruit arrived today, for free! Yay! Had a voucher for a free box kindly given to us by a friend. Very chuffed!
Here is big bees list she's working on..
And this was something I found her doing on her own tonight just before bed. Totally on her own accord and not even copying from anything. Always so keen!

Painting and Rainbows

A totally normal breakfast in this house, lol! Scarf and hat? We do have heating I promise!
After breakfast big bee requested some workbooks to do. She spent ages very carefully writing her letters. :-)
Meanwhile little bee played his 'shapies' app as he calls it :-)
Big bee created this master piece next..
Followed by some painting and glittering..
Concentrating face. :-)
The finished pieces. Big bee done all the birthday cake pictures and little bee done the salt dough bits.
Big bee has shown a great interest in the calender lately, mainly I think because of the count down to Christmas! Whatever the reason though I was happy to talk about how it all works with her. Learning because she wants to - best way!
After lunch mum came in and very kindly offered to do some crafts with the bees while I got some Christmas bits sorted.. (Thankyou mum!) She had an idea about rainbows and also took piccies! Yay!
Here is what they got up too... Little bee didnt last long as he apparently nearly fell asleep at the table!
This was the beautiful picture I was presented with when I returned. :-) love it!
Big bee requested to make a bow which is rather sweet as she'd split the word up into two pieces in her mind, 'rain' and 'bow'. Love how children think!
