Valentines day

I woke up to the loveliest surprise this morning. My lovely hubby bee who I thought was at work today was in the kitchen and had secretly cooked up some special pink heart pancakes. They were stuffed with chocolate too! He'd even gone to the trouble of colouring them with beetroot instead of food colouring as artificial colours and big bee don't seem to mix to well.
I had a lovely card from him, a bag of hotel chocolate goodies and these forever flowers. I feel extremely lucky to have him. At that point I actually felt a bit bad as I kicked the poor man out of bed this morning at 6:15am as I returned from a toilet trip and realised he hadn't got up for work. He usually gets up at 6:00am. He didn't spoil the surprise though and got up even though he didn't need too and waited for us to roll out of bed at 8:30am! Poor daddy bee! Bless him!
There was all chopped fresh fruit to decorate our pancake stacks with. 5 layers!
After breakfast, Mr Valentine knocked on the door and left the bees a little treat. A book all about valentines and a few handmade raw choccys. ;-)
Nanny had kindly sent them both a little gift and they were excited to get going on the puzzle. Big bee done her stencilling a little later.
We were meant to be having a valentine craft day today with friends but unfortunately everyone was out of action in the end. I didn't sleep that well last night so a quieter day appealed anyway.. Anyway my quiet plans were pushed to one side with the bees enthusiasm. They just didn't stop today!
First we done valentine canvases.. We stuck letter stickers on, then painted, and when dry pulled off the stickers. When I asked what big bee loved she replied, her family. When I asked little bee his first response was woody and buzz! Haha! We ended up going with pancakes in the end!
Waiting to dry before peeling..
Onto valentine cards, bubble wrap heart printing!
Finished bits :-)
Next we made heart shape roast potatoes ready for tea
Then pizza bases with little bee while big bee stencilled.
Ready to decorate!
Ready for the oven
Next chocolate and pear heart shaped cake for our dessert.
This was so yum!
Cuddles and giggles with daddy bee
Our scrummy special valentines tea.
Better than any restaurant! ;-) candle lit dinner with my yummy little family. Was absolutely perfect and makes me feel just so lucky. :-) I have no desire to head out into a crowded restaurant on valentines day. Also I rather like the fact we can all celebrate it together. The way I see it is if valentines is all about love then I spent it with the right people. :-)
Back to stencilling after tea!
One of her finished pieces, thanks nanny!
