Today we spent a lovely day with friends at Happisburgh beach. We took metal detectors to look for 'treasure' and also with a view to pick some pretty rocks up so we have some to put in daddy bees. Stone polisher.
We took a picnic with us and set up camp! It was quite windy but not really cold. The cliffs looked so different to when we were last there a few months back. Unbelievably so, even big bee noticed. It led to a good chat about erosion and the different layers of the cliff. The bottom part was clay and really looked just like the clay you would buy from a craft shop. We thought about taking a little home but forgot in the end.
After searching for a bit with no luck I discreetly hid a few pennies for them to be found by the children. There little faces were so sweet when they found real 'treasure'. :-) we did then go on to find a rusty nail, piece of wire and a lump of metal!
Beautiful blue sky and the winter sun was lovely.
After the beach we came back to ours for a cup of tea.. The children were playing so lovely, we ended up all having some tea together too. Here are the children with there spag bol. :-)
A really lovely day, I feel nicely 'fresh sea air exhausted' now, hopefully will sleep well tonight. :-)
