This morning we made a little chick made of wool, I had to help a bit but big bee done quite a lot of it.
Next a few number games..
The bees built a airplane in the lounge, lol!
After lunch we headed off to the doctors surgery. We'd agreed to take part in a student doctor programme. We went when little bee was a newborn and were asked back again. Basically it involves the students talking to us about the different things that have happened from birth onwards. It involved talking about breast feeding, tongue tie, home birth etc. it was a positive experience. The students were lovely and friendly. One played with big bee with her beads and they made a necklace together.
I talked to the bees before we went today about what to expect and said if there was anything big bee wanted to ask the docs she could. After looking through a 'my body' book this morning, big bee decided she wanted to ask how many bones there are in the human body, and if they liked being doctors. :-) . After the students were done with there questions the subject of home education came up. They were really interested so I told them all about it, I said actually big bee has a couple of questions for you. She asked the bone question and bless them they were dumb founded, they had no idea! Not even a rough guess. I was quite surprised that after 4 years studying that they didn't know even roughly. They were really embarrassed and said I think google would have the answer! Lol!
This actually made my day in a way, as it really proves however much of a pro you are in your chosen subject you can't know everything. And this is the same for school teachers, just because they are a teacher doesn't mean they know everything, no more than I do. The main thing is to be equipped with the knowledge of how to find an answer. I'm more than capable of googling an answer or even going to the library and finding the right books on the subject. I get asked around one million questions a day and some of them I don't know the answer but I am certainly not ashamed to not know the answer. We often google things and learn together. I think that's better than appearing to know everything. If I did that rather than being honest and saying I don't know then my children would be aiming for something that isn't even possible. I'd rather teach the lesson that we are all human and can't know everything but to be happy to learn new exciting things.
After we got back from the doctors grandad popped by and he ended up boarding the bubbas plane!
It got extended a bit and they all 'took off' :-)A flash card lotto game with daddy while I cook tea.
Little bee came to help me. :-)
Nanny popped by after tea and got enticed onto the airplane for a flight. She ended up being a pilot!
Sorry nanny about the picture! Hehe!
