This morning we made pumpkin cake, no time to get dressed, straight into it. :-)
Completely forgot to take a picture of the done cakes so this is the best one I have. They were very yummy anyway and all gone now!
Next we boiled eggs and peeled them for egg mayo for lunch. It occurred to me today we've never gone over the different ways of cooking eggs so that might just be our next project. Something very simple but so simple I've overlooked it's importance. They really loved peeling them, strange, its something I hate!
All of our friends arrived after lunch along with Pippa from 'pippas pottery'. Here she is giving a talk on pottery, its origins, the ways we use it, etc. very informative little lesson. They all seemed to really be taking it in. Little bee is behind the sofa in this pic! Lol!
Onto the painting! They were so excited! Little bee painted something I bought the other day. It saved me paying for him when I knew he wouldn't spend long on it anyway. Typically today he did spend quite a while painting! Big bee was painting her plate for ages. She really loves things like this. Her concentration amazes me!
They all had a lovely time, everyone enjoyed themselves.
Big bees finished plate. These will now be took away to be fired. The colours come out much brighter once baked. We learnt her oven 'a kiln' bakes at 1300c!! That is hot! Takes 10 hours to bake, then further 10 hours before they're cool enough for her to handle.
The finished pieces! Little bees is the little rabbit on the right.
Straight outside for lots more fun! Big bee gave all her friends individual tours of the chicken run. I didn't see any of this but I've been reliably informed from a few mums that she was telling them all individually everything about the chickens, a real educational talk! :-) They said she was so animated and confident in the subject. Bless her! Made my day to hear that. :-)
After tea tonight we went with our free pass to a local gym to go swimming. -- absolute disaster! To tired to write about it now but oh dear, what a faff. Luckily we are blessed with fabulously understanding children that's all I can say. Anyway, other than that it was a wonderful day, really lovely. Can't wait to see the plates when they are done in a week! :-)
