Busy day.. Big bee started off painting her window hangers set which her auntie kindly bought her for her birthday. She really enjoyed doing it, little bee didn't get a look in as she stated, 'it was my birthday present and he'll just paint it wrong' lol! Fair enough I guess.. Little bee settled for some drawing instead.
Then outside to the poly tunnel and a small harvest..
Preparing the 'spaghetti squash' (thankyou google/Pinterest else I'd have no idea!)
Ready for the oven
And here it is in its final resting place! We had a bit for lunch, just a quick try. Plain with olive oil, salt and pepper and it was really nice. Actually very close to spagetti! For tea it was put in a cheese sauce and topped with a mix of veggies in a tomato sauce. A kind of throw in everything you have kind of veggie/sauce mix! Was yummy anyway. And no meat in sight, must be some sort of miracle for us, we always have meat!
Here's how our caterpillers are getting on, all now cocooned up.. Now we play the exciting waiting game wondering what will emerge..
Our new tub for lunch/snacks. I've been making this up for the last couple of days so the bees can snack when they need to, its a shared lunch but also a grazing thing. Thought it worth a try, I constantly seem to be getting snacks etc so when I saw this container it seemed perfect. We'll see! It's worked well so far.
A bit of hello kitty bead action
After tea, out to the poly tunnel where we must have rescued 10 butterflies?! They were all so tame, or possibly just hot and couldn't be bothered to fly off!
Mans best friend..
