A day at the country park

A lovely day out today to a local country park with a group of our home ed friends. 6 families with a combined total of 14 little people! Wonderful clear weather. Not really cold, just fresh. Perfect weather in my opinion! We fed the ducks (actually mainly greedy cheeky swans!) then walked some of the way round the lake and back.
Little bee found a big muddy puddle which he had great fun splashing in. He was totally covered in mud, his trousers, socks, boots, all saturated! Eeek! He didn't seem to care though and still bundled along with everyone! It wasn't till we stopped at the end and I took everything wet off that I realised his boots were full of water! Poor little monkey, about a cup of water in each boot! He didn't seem to care though.. Lol!
The boys bundling off, little bee in the thick of it :-)
A few of the girls and little bee
Aww! A quick pose on the bench, all in matching coats!
Even after the long walk they were still wizzing about!
Where we sat down after our walk and had a little chill!
Wonderful day, the children all had so much fun bundling about together. We got to meet one new family too. Lovely mummy and children who we'll hopefully get to see again soon. Lives quite close to us which is nice. :-)
Back home and the girl can't stop! More words... :-)
Two shattered bees tonight and both asleep early (well early for our family anyway!) :-)

Butterflies and shapes

Our day started off with breakfast with daddy bee which was lovely. A mid week day off work for him, though still working at home!
Some drawing happening straight away after breakie..
Big bee wanted a horse drawn so she could colour it in. I obliged with the help of google to copy a pic from.
She then asked how to spell horse and pony and produced the tiniest neatest writing ever! (Excuse my awful horse pic who sadly looks more like he has a dinosaur head!)
I cut out some shapes for little bee to stick on his paper. He's been playing a lot of shape apps lately so I thought we'd go with that theme. :-)
Next, me and big bee looked at the new butterfly sticker book. I picked this up from a charity shop the other day for 25p. Its really good, she enjoyed sticking the stickers in the right places. Lots of info under each one which I read out for her. Some bits more interesting than others.
Later in the day it was back to the pens and paper and big bee totally on her own accord started writing numbers down. So lovely how a relaxed attitude obviously works. She's so keen all the time. I never have to get her to do things, she seems to want to do them on her own. I truly think this is the best way of learning. Nothing forced, learning naturally.

Another wonderful example of this today was my gran and her friend visiting. My grans friend is blind and after we spoke to them and came back we had a really great chat about eyesight and what it means to be blind. I told big bee to shut her eyes and try walking around. She really took it all on board and we also talked about our friends puppy who is blind too. It'll be fab getting to know the little pup. Great life lesson for them.
Then it was time for horse riding! One very excited girlie as usual! She had a fab lesson, rode minty her favourite horse.:-) her rising trott is getting really good now. little bee was particularly vocal in the viewing room. Chatting away. :-) so cute hearing his words pour out..
We saw a rather spooked horse today before her lesson. Was very good for us all to see. Such powerful beautiful animals. I think horse riding is a lovely hobby and very good for so many things. Fab excercise too!
Little bee later with his favourite food, raw pepper eaten like an apple! (This is how he 'helps' me cook tea!) lol!
Big bee helping.. She just loves anything to do with cooking.
My happy foodie shot of the day! Sweet and sour Kale crisps and maple almonds! Yum! (Mum I know how many I have in the jar, wink wink! Hehe!) and dad, I know you're rather taken to my green crisps, I'm watching those too! Haha! Xxx
Just before bed, big bee disappeared off to draw a picture for nanny. She then went and posted it under her door, bless her! Fab piccy, so proud. :-)

Remember remember, the 5th of November.

Busy day today.. Remember remember the 5th of November! So rather topically the bees helped with the fire this morning.
Next a spot of birthday card colouring in. Big bee found this card and realised she hadn't coloured the hello kitty in. Soon sorted!
And on the theme of bonfire night we carried on with a bonfire craft. :-)
Glueing...
Cutting...
Sticking...
Busy busy, much concentration happening! Little bee surprised me and stuck at this activity till he'd finished. His attention span is getting longer all the time. :-)
Big bee wanted to write 'bonfire' at the top. No pen would show up on black so we decided on glitter!
Beautiful bonfire piccys. :-)
This evening we headed over to grans for a bonfire night family party. Fantastic evening. :-)
Yummy food!
Fab bonfire, which actually turned out to be the highlight of the party.
A rather nosey neighbour started shouting over the fence that the fire was out of control (it wasn't!).
We explained it was ok, we'd took all safety precautions etc. hose at the ready! He said he was going to call the fire brigade!?! We all thought he was joking but nope, about 4 minutes later the firemen turned up!! Poor guys being called out for no good reason. What a waste of there time! Only plus is the children (and some of the woman, lol!) were thrilled to have fireman at the party! Lol! Still hate to think if they'd have been needed else where though.
Not a great piccy, but here's one of the fire engine! I knew one of the firefighters from my jessops days. Nice to see him!
Some of us inside, I took this through window from outside. My gran throwed a fab party, everyone enjoyed themselves so much. We had some great fireworks too!
Big bee sitting with gran watching the fireworks, aww!
Little bee joins in sitting watching!
Sparkler Time!
The whole family!
My mum on the left, gran at the front and my uncles! Had to capture this, they aren't often all together. So nice to see everyone and catch up.
And finally leaving for home, they didn't want to go! Fab night! Thanks gran!
