Bows and butterflies

Big bee wanted to play Minnie Mouse bowtiques this morning and make bows. We've talked about doing it for a while and ordered some ribbon and clips together so we got going on it.

We were both thrilled with the results, Rapunzel ones are the next project!
Next we browsed my Pinterest folder and big bee picked out something she'd like to do. Food colouring and water and then pipette it onto kitchen roll squares. Once covered with colours we put out in the sun to dry and then had a plan to make them into butterfly's.
Shortly after we started, Little bee fell asleep and our friends arrived to exchange birthday cards. They stopped for a little play and big bee and O played with the colours. They made lots of coloured sheets then they wanted to start pouring colours so we moved them outside onto the tough spot.
At some point sand or 'sugar' as they called it was added to the mix and they were 'baking cakes' . Lots of fun was had, a bit of bouncing on the trampoline too!
Here are the completed butterflies!
A bit later on, little bee doing a bit of 'DIY', complete with mixing bowl for a hat.
After tea we went out to do the watering. There were two white butterflies in the poly tunnel which we rescued. One sat on big bees hand for ages, I think it had got over hot in there. Hopefully it'll be ok.
We looked it up on the butterfly cards and think its a 'small white'.
Little bee caught himself a cucumber! Haha!
Apparently the best cucumber they'd ever ever eaten! Good good!

Sisters and cousins :-)

Me and big bee made waffles this morning topped with honey and cherries. Little bee was having a lay in at this point. He came through in time to eat though!
We then decided to make a last minute dash to the Wednesday carboot. Big bees idea, she started saying she wanted to go to a carboot and I realised it was the right day for it so we went for it. There wasn't a great amount there but both bees found some bits and pieces. One stall holder gave big bee some hair clips which she was thrilled about! Kept saying how lucky she was.
We were invited over to my sisters for the afternoon so off we trotted to hers. I picked up a few lunch bits on the way and between us and some left over party boxes a funky little lunch was sorted. They loved it!

Lots of play inside and out, here are the trio looking at the nature habitat. Looking for frogs!
We picked up at the carboot two little bead sets so the girls got stuck into making a necklace each. Think it was just the quiet down activity they needed after a lot of over excitement in the garden!
Little bees new best friend. He used to be so scared of Alfie the dog but he's took to him lately. Here is him 'spoon feeding' him! Lol!
A rather exhausting day for the girls, so much excitement and play. They were in such need of a sleep but when we suggested it we didn't actually think they would! Soooo cute laying there asleep. :-) love them both so much.
Little bee admiring my brother in laws fantastic marine fish tank, he spotted 'nemo' and 'nemos dad' and was rather excited!

After a sleep we all headed back to ours for some tea as my sister was on her own tonight so I suggested her joining us.
Lots of bouncy fun! Even little My little nephew E joining in. :-)

Corn on the cob from the poly tunnel and sausages for tea! Rather funny face from big bee!
After tea the children watered the plants, big bee was telling C all about the veggies and little bee was desperately trying to show her the cucumbers! He was getting so animated and excited.
Just time for some scootering before they had to go home. A really very lovely day spent with my sis and family. Little C was upset that she had to go and said she wanted to stay the night! Lol! We compromised with a promise of a girlie sleepover soon. Sis and my niece will stay a night with me and big bee in the lounge with movies and popcorn. The girls loved that idea!
Love you sisaroo! :-)

Our first sweet corn harvest

The bees were so excited to get on the trampoline this morning. Lots of bouncy fun!
We came in after a bit as it was getting so hot and took shelter inside. Big bee said she'd like to make some party hats which we did. Even mummy made one!

Drawings and stickers all decorating there hats
Big bee carried on after with some cutting and sticking of old greetings cards too.

Here is a couple of pics of the bees sunflowers, they are now finally out in flower.

They watched on as a bumble bee buzzed around the flower collecting pollen. It was absolutly covered in pollen! We talked a bit about honey making.
For tea tonight we harvested our first corn on the cobs. 4 of them, so one each. Here is daddy showing big bee how to check to see if ready.

Big bee proudly carrying the first cob
Little bee looking slightly confused but happy.

Daddy bee showing them how to peel/prepare
They both had a go.
Oh and they were very very yum! :-)

And lastly here is big bee just before bath time playing with her magnetic letter book. You put the letters at the beginning  of the words. Great little book!

Family fun at the coast

A long overdue family day out. We went to Yarmouth for the day, a bit of a late birthday day out for little bee.
We parked at the market and had a little look round there. We saw a bird display, a hawk, and some different owls. Big bee was fascinated and we stood ages looking at them. We'd found in the garden the day before the feathered remains of a black bird and daddy bee had said it was probably a hawk that had eaten it and when we saw this hawk big bee said. 'Was that the one who ate the black bird?!' Lol !

An icecream is a must at the seaside!
As is putting a few 2p's in the arcade machines!
A walk through joy land..
Had a look at the sea
Then we walked towards 'yesterday's world'. I remembered several years ago I won some tickets in a raffle to this place. Never got to use them and by some miracle they were in my bag still !
We went inside, all very excited!
Yesterday's world is like a walk back through time, war years, Victorian era etc. really good, a big old fashioned carousel which you can ride on the hour for free. This photo below Is 'a walk down memory lane.' Loads of shop windows, all how they used to be..
A toy shop window
A gypsy caravan
One of the war displays, there were also air raid shelters..
Two posters which we talked a bit about
The mock train station with announcements etc

Woooo! A ride on the carousel!
Neither bees were tall enough for the horses much to big bees dismay!
A break in the old fashioned Victorian tea rooms. My free tickets also included a cream tea! Gutted though I couldn't have any and there were no gluten free cakes. Booo!
Chilling in the tea rooms!
Playing hopscotch!
Taking on the maze
Wacky mirrors..
Trying out the old fashioned cinema, bit of laurel and hardy!
One of the display air raid shelters
Bit of a pose, photo had to be taken in two pieces as no one around to take it for us. Still pretty cool though!
A fantastic day, both bees were exhausted at the end but had so much fun! We all saw and learnt loads. Would defiantly go back to yesterday's world, when we looked at the guide map later we realised we 'd missed a big section! Oooops!
