Samphire from Stiffkey

A lovely day today spent with my little family. A fab carboot with a few good bargains then we went on to Stiffkey. Gorgeous weather, not to hot but with a cooling breeze. Perfect. :-)

Big bee took her seashore spotter book so there was lots of spotting done.
A crab!
Ticking it off..
We found the best spots for samphire and picked lots! Yum!
We had an inflatable boat which we bought a while back. First time using it today. They loved it!
A shrimp! There were lots but daddy bee managed to catch this one for us to look at.
Another crab!
Washing the mud off the samphire..
We found some clay, and had a good play with it. We gathered a bit and bought some home too. :-)
Hmmm, mud bath anyone?! None of the other puddles were this muddy, little bee was chucking the sand/mud all about! Lol!
Yummy children
And a few family selfies..
Love this!
We picked up a crab on the way home, and with sweetcorn from the poly tunnel and samphire I think it was one of the freshest teas possible! (Salmon for me!)
Yum yum yum!
Big bee has requested samphire for her birthday party.. Not actually sure how I'm going to manage that! We'll see... Lovely day. :-)

Wild cats and cupcakes

Learning and reading all about wild cats this morning
With some big wild cat activities..
A very hot day and big bee wanted to make cupcakes! Eeek, couldn't face putting oven on so we used the cupcake maker! Genius!
After little bee gave up to water play in the sink, big bee carried on.
First lot in..
Batch of freshly cooked pumpkin muffins! Yum!
Later, playing some card games at nannies.
And a puzzle
And a spot of Hama beads.
It was so hot outside I jokingly said I bet you could fry an egg out there! We decided to try the theory out! It more dried out than fried but interesting all the same.

Wild animal spotting

After lunch today we made a spur of the moment decision to head to thrigby. Knowing its one of the last quiet days there before the summer holidays we thought we'd make the most of our passes. We took big bees new 'wild animal spotter' book. She loved looking for them and ticking them off. Fab little books. We have several different ones.
Spotting a tiger!
A gibbon family.. We saw the little one have a feed from mummy. Just precious.
Me with my bubs, just love em!
A climbing adventure at the playground.
A lovely afternoon with my bubs.

Happy 3rd birthday little bee!

Last nights efforts, all ready for the birthday boy!
Happy birthday little bee!
3 today :-)
We spent the day at the park with little bees best buddies, he had a lovely time. It was just right for him. He's not keen on a lot of birthday fuss. Not yet anyway!
He's not overly impressed at being sung too but enjoyed the cake anyway!
Fun and games..
Here we are in the exact spot he was born. At the exact time too. What wonderful memories from one of the most amazing days of my life.
A birthday tea ready for our special birthday boy..
And an olaf cake. Gluten and sugar free. :-)
Again little bee wasn't keen on the birthday celebrations but with everyone shutting there eyes he blew out his candles.
Loving playing with one of his new pressies, :-)
Busy but fab day. Love my bees so much. I'm one seriously lucky mummy. :-) xxxx
